Between 12:49 UTC until 13:51 UTC on September 9th Voice Calling, Portal, and API access for a portion of our Numbers/Telserv related services were degraded. Additional services such as SipTrunking and Voice API were impacted and customers may have experienced choppy audio, dropped calls, or failed inbound/outbound calling.
The root cause was a DDoS attack against a client located within a shared data center as MessageBird. The network carrier is investigating why their anti-DDoS system failed to prevent this issue.
